Our founder, Deepak Solanki was awarded the National Entrepreneurship Award’ 2019. He was recognised in the A3 category in Engineering Systems, Base metals and articles, Machinery & Mechanical Appliances Sector.

Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey conferred the National Entrepreneurship Awards 2019 to the Enterprises and Ecosystem builders. The fourth edition of the award ceremony was organized to mark the completion of 5 years of setting up the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.This award recognises and honours the outstanding young First-Generation Entrepreneurs, and Ecosystem builders for their outstanding contribution in entrepreneurship development and providing support to the entrepreneurs. The agenda of this platform is to instil and entrench the entrepreneurial attitude among future generations and the Youth of India.

For the awards, 6098 applications were received online. The 4134 eligible applications out of those then underwent field assessment and regional online evaluation, which was undertaken by 12 partner institutes, spread across the country. National Jury was chaired by Dr R A Mashelkar and comprised of experts from industry, academics and business who then selected the list of winners.Congratulating the winners, the Union Minister said that the awardees reflect the new and emerging India, which is confident and moving ahead. He said that it is heartening to note that people from different parts of the country have participated in the competition. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a better-skilled workforce in the country is being implemented by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. A skilled workforce will fulfil the country’s aspiration to become a $5 trillion economy in the near future and improve the rank in ease of doing business. He said that the Government has launched a number of schemes like Skill India, Digital India to support the young, enterprising and aspiring India.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Skill Development and Entrepreneurship KP Krishnan said that within four years, the number of completed applications for the awards has gone up ten-fold, showing the increasing spirit of entrepreneurship among the people of India.

He said that these awards are different from those being given by the private sector, as they recognise the people rooted in real India, who have come up through struggle and hard work.For us at Velmenni, it was a moment of true pride and a mark of recognition for our organisation as a whole, encouraging us to reach for greater heights and render the world solutions like none other.
